I believe a lot of those guns, like the Wurlitzer and Singer are quite valuable now, at least the ones still around. I know those Lugers are worth a lot of money. I always thought those were pretty cool. I remember my uncle, who was in the Pacific, on islands like Iwo Jima, and such during WW2 had a Japanese katana that he got from an officer, I think. He actually told me about a lot of messed up crap that went down over there. I don't think there's too many of those guys left around anymore. That war ended about 74 years ago now.

The Pacific theater ended in Aug. 1945, on the Battleship Missouri. Some Lugers are valuable, others were made by slave labor. The same as the Walther P-38's. I had a 1914 DWM Luger with its original holster. It was worth a couple thousand. In many circumstances the original holster can be close to the value of the gun itself. Original magazines can also add value to a pistol.

Did you ever shoot it?

No I didn't. I could have. The bore was pristine, the action was smooth. I did have a 1917 Luger that was a shooter, that I did fire at the range. It had an importer's stamp on the top of the barrel. The Luger needed a strong 9mm cartridge to cycle the toggle style action.

Imagine that gun would be 102 years old now.

A fine working, and eloquent weapon.

Yeah, they didn't mess around with their designs back then.

Sometimes though, they overbuilt, or made firearms to complicated in design. There was a rare .45ACP Luger that was turned out in very low numbers.

Oh yeah, I read about that, and seen something on TV, like one of those History Channel, or Military Channel (when they used to have that channel) programs about guns, or related subjects. I think they called it the million dollar Luger, or something like it, because of it's value. It was some sort of prototype I think when they were doing the military trials in 1907, but they wanted to use the .45 caliber cartridge, since they had problems with the .38 Long Colt cartridges stopping the Moro attacks in the Philippines during the Philippine-American War. At least that's what I've read and seen about that. I've also seen that someone actually made their own version of that Luger. https://lugerman.com/luger-45/ That one there sure isn't cheap, either. They have the prices for them lower down that page. I suppose if you have the bucks, that would be an interesting piece to have.

It's my original Mustang PJ I reacquired. Complete with the original ETB92S Nylons onboard.

Once again you've managed to pull that off. I'm surprised no one bought that, since they're pretty cool basses. Then again, maybe short scales aren't as popular. What's up with that, you manage to get some funds and decided to get it back since they still had it there?

It's trying at times, but I have the two basses, the AC Jazz, and the Hofner. I would have liked to have hung on to the Mustang, but it's ok. I do have a couple hundred bucks outstanding on the Hofner still. So I can pay that off soon.
