I honestly won't miss those items, and it's not like I really needed them.

Well, they certainly came in handy to raise the needed cash.

They were only inanimate objects, taking up space, but they served their purpose. I still have the AC Jazz, and my heavy armament is still intact.

That's true. What about the ammo for those? You keep that, or sell it, too?

It was all 9mm for pistols I no longer had, so I sold it off as well. The heaver .45ACP ammo is still in tact, since I have the the bigger bore .45ACP pistol. The 12Ga shells are here to go with the shotgun. A shotgun for defense is the one piece to have over anything else. Totally devastating in its firepower, and ballistic dominance. It didn't take long to decide which stuff stayed, and which went. Image

Yeah, a 12 gauge and a .45 should be quite sufficient for home defense, I'd say.

They can get the job done. I'm military .45 era, not 9mm era.

That's because of NATO. I guess Europe never really had much to do with the .45 ACP round, other than some lend-lease stuff during the war.

There were a couple of European countries in NATO that carried .45ACP, over 9mm.

Norway had their own licensed version of the Colt M1911, adopted in 1914, the Kongsberg M/1914 . https://www.militaryfactory.com/smallar ... 75#history

I thought I remembered Norway as one, but I wasn't sure. During WWll, there were some interesting American manufactures that made firearms to meet the numbers needed for the war.

International Harvester was in on the manufacture of M-1 Garand rifles.

I believe a lot of those guns, like the Wurlitzer and Singer are quite valuable now, at least the ones still around. I know those Lugers are worth a lot of money. I always thought those were pretty cool. I remember my uncle, who was in the Pacific, on islands like Iwo Jima, and such during WW2 had a Japanese katana that he got from an officer, I think. He actually told me about a lot of messed up crap that went down over there. I don't think there's too many of those guys left around anymore. That war ended about 74 years ago now.
