The Buttercream did look good with the Maple, but I knew I'd always like the Polar White better. I do have the White Jazz PG to change it out to. I do like playing long scales any more.

The white one is a nice looking example with the maple board, too. By the way, I went ahead and tweaked the truss rod, and the Ibanez is back in action. No more buzzing, and the action is still pretty sweet. Maybe the weather screwed with it, I don't know?

Very good. I'm glad that's all it took.

Yeah, what gave me the idea to try it was I had to do the same thing to the violin bass a couple of times, especially after the weather changed, which it does from one extreme to another, depending on time of the year. I couldn't raise the bridge on the violin bass, since it has those wooden, whatever the hell they are ones that really don't do anything, and I ran out of space to raise the bridge saddles on the Ibanez, so that was the only other thing I could think to try. I'm glad it seemed to work, because I'd hate to have to have that bass sent to a pro to look at it.

The one thing I did get from it, was I did actually put some time with long scale basses again, and because I did, I got used to doing that a little bit, and going back to both short scale basses wasn't too weird, or anything. Maybe I can condition myself to where I can just go from different basses without having to do any sort of adjusting. The only bass I had any trouble adjusting to, and what made me switch to a short scale was the violin bass. That thing has a small playing area to deal with, especially if you're used to playing on something like a Precision Bass. It's a bit more cramped.

Check the width of the nut on your violin bass. You may be surprised to see, if it's any thing like Hofner violins, the nut is at, or about the 1.62" as a Precision nut's width. Some can even run a bit wider. Gibson SG Std.'s are like that, and are a flatter radius on the fretboard also.

That would be strange. Maybe the fact that it's an archtop and smaller shaped body made it seem smaller than it is. Or, it could have been the fact it was really my first short scale that I really put any time into.

Just for laughs, measure the nut.

I'll do that. I'm curious about this as well.

I just went ahead and checked the specs on the site, and they said the width was 1 1/2" at the nut.

That's a Jazz width. That's good, I think anyway.

Yeah, the neck is pretty narrow on it. It took me some getting used to, especially because I was playing a Precision Bass when I got it, I think. I might have still had the Schecter, though.

I always thought Schecter's were damn good basses. The necks feel good to me.
