So I take it they have the 12"s positioned diagonally then? The specs on both of those sounds pretty good. I could even run the PF-800 through that, as long as I don't crank the volume to max, since it's 800 watts, probably. I couldn't imagine even doing that in the first place.

Yeah,..... the 12's are diagonally set. That makes it more compliant in size to work with other cabs.
I guess I'm too cautious to run an 800 Watt head through a 600 Watt cab. That's just me though. That can be one downfall of a 4 ohm cab. At 4 ohms, the cab will try to take the maximum Watts a cab has to offer it. Good, or bad.

I know what you mean about being cautious about that. Although, I think it would be more of a risk with a 200 watt cab and a 400 watt head, since you'd be realistically more likely to crank that thing in a live situation, with a drummer, or that sort of thing. I used to have a Peavey head that although it went to 300 watts at 2 ohms, I only ever ran it at the 210 watts at 4 ohms mark (never had two 4 ohm cabs to run it with) and it got pretty loud with just the 15" speaker that I had. I did run one with a Peavey 2 x 15" cab, and it got even more sonic coverage. I imagine you'd be going at a good clip doing 600 watts, much less going past it. Of course, the deficiency of the speakers is a major factor in it, as well.

A good fit for the SVT-212AV would be just about any 500 Watt head @ 4 ohms, or the Hartke TX600 head @ 4 ohms. Fortunately, the V-4B's 100 Watts is fine in the 212AV.

Yeah, it does seem like a good match for each other.

I've been so playing with the SS heads so much, I've forgotten the volume, and power a 100 Watt tube head is capable of. Not to be redundant about it, but the punch of 12's sounds great to me, again. I suppose if I weren't using the SVT-212AV, the SVT-410HLF would be the Ampeg cab of my choice.

Wasn't that the 4 x 10" cab you had previously?

Yes, I used it for the Hartke HyDrive HD115.

If I ever am able to either replace or supplement the Rumble 4 x 10" cab down the road, I was thinking about the Ampeg options available for that configuration. They current have four, with the PF410HLF Portaflex, SVT-410HE, SVT-410HLF, and Heritage SVT-410HLF cabs. Of course, prices of those brand new in the box, are $549.99, $679.99, $799.99, and $899.99, at least at AMS, and I'm sure elsewhere, since those seem to be standard from what I've seen around.

I really can't see myself ever spending almost $900 on a bass cab, especially when at that point you might as well throw in the extra $100 and get either the SVT-610HLF 6 x 10" or SVT-810E 8 x 10" cabs, which are $999.99, so that leaves out the Heritage cab. Even if I had that kind of money, I couldn't realistically get one of those 8 x 10" cabs (I'm not even getting into the 6 x 10", since the specs on that aren't any better than the 4 x 10" ones, except for two extra speakers, which also adds to the size and weight,) since I really don't have the proper means to transport it (it may fit in the Honda CR-V, but that would be a huge pain in the arse, because of having to move the back seat, and rest of the gear that has to come along,) and I'd have to manage to move that thing by myself up stairs, and who knows where I could even store it? You need to have the ability to move and store that thing around, which I don't have right now. Sure, a road crew, and a large truck, no problem. :P

I remember you telling me the SVT-410HLF was pretty big as well, so that might be problematic, so I think that would leave me with either the PF410HLF Portaflex, which goes with my PF-800 head, or the SVT-410HE cab, which is essentially a half of an SVT-810E cab, and looks like it has decent specs to it. Well, they both do, with having pluses and minuses between each.

I could see the SVT-410HE cab, working well for your needs. A lot better than SVT-410HLF cabs, Classic, or Heritage cabs. They don't have a flat back, and that adds to the weight, and the bulk. Stairs would be not much of an option with SVT-410HLF cabs. Yes if you had a road crew, and a truck with a lift gate. I've moved the SVT-410HLF cabs I had in a Rav4 by laying it on it's back, and lift it up to slide it in.

I've been thinking about the SVT-410HE cab, as well. Speaking of which, I got an email from Ampeg today, and check this out: https://shop.ampeg.com/refurbished/?p=1

That's some good prices on that stuff. 8) Sure, it's all refurbished, but if it works, who cares?

I saw that last week, but I forget where. All of it is factory refurbished!!! That's hard to beat.

Yeah, they had an 8 x 10" cab for $543.99, which is pretty damned cheap, almost 1/2 price compared to a brand new one. Too bad that thing is like a refrigerator in size and weight to have to move around and store, because you'd have to admit that it would be kind of cool to see how it would crank in person.

The sounds of the fridges were incredible. And they should've been with 300 watt SVT's.
