The bass did look familiar, yet not. The logo could have been Yamaha, since they've had similar font. I've never seen a Yamaha like that, but it was in 1975, so maybe they had a model like that back then. I'm really curious what the amp was, though.

I believe it's a Harmony. I could be wrong, but I'll go with it being a Harmony.

Yeah, it could be. I wonder if he still had it up until he died, or even if he kept his old gear? I think he still had the stuff from Cream, like the Gibson, and the Fender Bass VI.

Jack may have been one of those players that never parted with any gear he had. If that was the case, and he had a Harmony Bass, from whenever, only the good Lord knows, and he ain't saying.

Yeah, you know who else never got rid of anything? Jimmy Page, from what I've heard him talking about that. He even still has those dragon outfits he had in Led Zeppelin. I think he has some warehouse somewhere that has all of his stuff from over the years, especially his gear. I can only imagine what all of that would be worth if he were to auction it off. Just his Les Paul alone would probably bring a cool million, I'll bet. I think Eric Clapton's "Blackie" Strat did.

Myself on the other hand, I just keep reacquiring certain gear. Like Olympic White Mustang PJ's for instance. At GC today, they had an Olympic White Mustang PJ, with what I think is the best looking Pau Ferro boards on it that I like anyway. I just happened to have had an unopened set of ETB92S Nylons on hand. Taadaaahhhh! I had about an hour to get aquatinted with it today. Very nice. I try to get some pics of it Monday.

It just seemed appropriate to go back to the future. (WHAT ?) Never Mind!

We don't need him any way. This Pau Ferro board looks good to me. I've seen so many of the the newer one on Fenders that were too bright, and almost having a washed out look to them. Between the 6th, and 7th fret there is a distinct grain in the wood that I noticed, and like in it.

Looks pretty good. 8) So how is it playing and sounding?

It's playing, and sounding fine. The Precision pup on it likes the SB Vintage Channel. It thumps, and booms at the same time. HyDrive speakers really kick.

Sounds good. 8) How much of a difference is there between the sound of the pickups of the Mustang, compared to the Precision? I know since the Mustang is a short scale, the sound will be different from just that alone.

I'm honestly going to have to get the two out for a side by side sound trial for a true answer to that one. There is one factor that will alter the sounds on the precision pups, they are different series Precision pups. A Vintage style Precision on the Mustang PJ, and a Noiseless Precision on the Special Edition Deluxe PJ. We shall see though on these two.

That should be interesting to see how much difference there would be.
