I'll go over there and see what's going on. Are they as bad as Fender about updating their site for new products? :P

The two sets of ETB92S Nylons came in the mail today. I can't get those locally, so hello GC.com for those. The ETB92S Nylons I have strung on the SG Std. now, were from the Mustang PJ. The "A" string was close fit, but it worked in a pinch. I have a little less then one, and a half wrap on the "A" string. So I think a new set is going to be strung on it tomorrow.

I don't blame you, I think it's best to have more coverage than that. I've had that issue, too. I tried to repurpose strings and wound up with a similar situation.

I did restrung the SG Std. today with one of the fresh ETB92S Nylon sets. I think it feels, plays, and sounds better with the new strings three full wraps on the string winder peg. I'll just keep the set I took off today as an emergency set backups, and still have the second unopened set intact.

I do need to get back to playing the Fenders more. I've been acclimating myself to the playing of the short scale Gibson. You how that worked when you got into your short scale basses too I guess.

You never know when that could come in handy, which it has, from what you've said.

I know what you mean. At least with a Jazz sized neck, I found the transition going to and from not too bad.

Speaking of Gibson, I went to their site and the only thing I've seen listed was the EB-4, SG, and Thunderbird models. This was an upgrade from yesterday, when all they had was the EB-4 listed, with both 4 and 5 string models. I guess they could be in the process of changing their site still, or it's all they're offering. I'll keep checking to see if anything else is around, but it might look like what's available. Those three models were the ones mentioned with the NAMM reports, so that's probably the case. I wish I knew what the hell bass it was that I spotted that one time, though. It didn't look like any of those.

I saw that too on the site. The Gibson I think you saw was a LP bass. a single humbucking, showy scale.

It probably was. I didn't find it, though. I'm pretty sure I saw a bass, since it had four strings, and too big to be a ukulele.

I thin it's bigger than a bread box, and smaller than the Empire State Building. That's an old saying! "Sorry about that chief".

Yeah, hopefully it wasn't just me having some acid flashbacks, and I hallucinated it. :P By the way, do you still have the SG bass? I noticed you removed the pic for it, and you did get the Super Bassman, so did you have to trade it in for that?

The SG Std. is going toward the Super Bassman. The Super is more important than the SG Std. is. What can I say, I'm a real sucker for that type of amp.

Yeah, you do have two other basses, and I'm sure that one you'd get the most money for, and I seriously doubt you don't want to part with the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. I've had to do the same thing to cover the cost of something else, but I usually just try to sell it outright.

The SG Std. was the newest, and it was able to be returned. So it was the highest priced one to work with on the deal for the Super. The Super price is bad enough, but then there's a 6 % sales tax added on to the price.

That's one amp that I've rarely seen any deals on, as far as like AMS does. Open box, scratch and dent, non factory sealed, etc. Usually, it's various Ampeg amps that you can find like that, especially the one I got. Maybe they just are used more for various means, like demos, or whatever. I have seen some Rumble stuff discounted from time to time, though. Your sales tax is 6%? Ours is 7% here. Of course, there might be different things that are taxed between the two states, and not.

Some of the gear doesn't seem to be priced that bad, until the taxman shows up.

Oh yeah, we need to rename this thread. Please voice any suggestions for the new name, or we can just let it go into the void.
