I suppose in a way, you've come full circle, with the amp and 2 x 12" cab, and the bass. It's not exactly the same, but the same vibe and components. Maybe they weren't doing as well with the changes, so they decided to go back to whatever was working before. Was that other bridge problematic, other than needing longer strings?

I honestly didn't think the Babicz adjusted as well as the 3 point bridge did. Gibson I think went to the basses that sold, and they tightened up on Quality. Rumor has it also, the people creating these back to real Gibsons, are being treated a craftsmen, not garbagemen. And women also of course.

BRAVO for Gibson. I'd like to think my one purchase may add to their come back to greatness again. At one time, A Gibson was a preferred guitar, bass, or banjo.

That's always a good thing. Would you say this is one of your better ones you've had, then?

Yes, definitely. I'll say it's the best I've had since my original EBO. The Humbuckings are really wound. It has an EB-3 tone to it.

After comparing the former Mustang PJ, to the SG Std.'s fretboards, I do think the Mustang PJ's' was a Rosewood fretboard. The Fender inventory label must've been incorrect as a Pau Ferro board.

That wouldn't surprise me. It probably might have been one of the last ones with rosewood, right when the other wood was being used.

That's what I thought when it was taken out of the carton at GC also. It was very well a transition board bass.

I'm not leaning in that direction, time will tell on that one. For now, the title stays as is.

Yeah, I do have to say, after looking at your pics again, Gibson definitely does the cherry finish very well. 8) It certainly looks nice on the one you have.

Yeah,...... I like the looks of it too. I'm realizing that I'm playing it a lot more than SG Std.'s I've had in the past. This Electric Lady has quality all over it. Usually when a bass, or guitar has good quality to it, it's a player. Having the frets dressed, is definitely a great feel as I play it also. I noticed that when I played the riff of Mountain's, "Never In My Life", in the store. I wasn't paying attention, but there few people in the store watching me play it. I thought it sounded damn good myself.
That was with the ETB92S Nylons I switched out from the Mustang PJ, at the store. Also, I was playing through an Ampeg V-4B, and an SVT-212AV they had on the floor. That was truly INSTANT KARMA! It's getting to be more routine that I bring a long a strap with me. I don't like sitting down playing any longer.

Sounds good. 8) Electric Lady was your first one, wasn't it?
