That's true. It only takes a moment for someone sneaky enough to snag something. Although, things like large speaker cabs aren't exactly stealthy to move, but still, you never know.

Not on the same subject but, when I was running a warehouse crew for a large appliance company, we were unloading a dishwasher railcar. We had to set one off to the side. Some guy was watching us unload the railcar. We stopped to take a break. He stated walking over toward us. All of a sudden, this guy comes at us full tilt, picks up the dishwasher, and takes off carrying it away at a full speed run. One of my guys says to me, should we try and stop him. I replied, no, if he can do what he just did, I'm not going to tangle with him. He and the dishwasher were gone in seconds. I know what you mean.

Wow, someone must have really hated doing dishes by hand! :P Seriously, though, I have to say that's pretty hardcore. I can see why you didn't bother. It's probably wise enough to know when you pick your battles, as that saying goes, more or less. I suspect you've probably also learned that from being in the military like you were.

Any guy that handle a 150-180 pound dishwasher on a full run like he did, I'm not messing with him.

I never did see him hanging around after that.

Ironically, he would have made a good mover or roadie, being able to haul something like that, especially that fast. :P

He could've been that for sure.

I was a bit tiffed that this posting has been somewhat abandoned. So,...... I acquired another Olympic White Mustang PJ today. G C has them on a price drop. It wasn’t much, but I was going to get one anyway.
The big shocker of the deal, they had one in the box. I had my choice of either one. There was nothing wrong with the floor Mustang, but the one in the box has a better looking fret board that look's more like a Rosewood, than a Pau Ferro. I haven't been too thrilled with some of the Pau Ferro on some of the Fender fretboards, in place of Rosewood's.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this one to show up again. What made you think about this bass again? I'm surprised it wasn't one that you had before, since you've managed to pull that off with the amps. Then again, basses in those price ranges are more likely to move and not hang around. That would be spooky, though. Wouldn't it, if it was the case? Interesting that you found one with a rosewood board, so it's obviously an older model. I didn't know you weren't too keen with the Pau Ferro boards. What didn't you like about them?

I don't think it's Rosewood. I watched it come out of the sealed Fender carton, and the Fender carton label said Pau Ferro. I did say it looks more like Rosewood, than Pau Ferro. Some of the Fender Pau Ferro boards I've seen have been somewhat light in grain, and a bit of an orange tint look to them. No where near some of the nicer browns found in some Rosewoods. It could be Rosewood as a mistake, but I kinda' doubt it.

It's funny how close it does look to the one Olympic White Mustang PJ I had in either March, or May of 2018. I Flipped when the GC sales rep saw on the computer he had one on the floor, and one in the stock room. Either one would have been great, but the Pau Ferro on the floor model was just a tad lighter. I really preferred the cartoned one, and when I saw this board on it, that sealed it. I played it there, and it was fine.

I was looking through the GC site, and saw they had the Olympic White Mustang PJ locally in stock. That got my interest going. I ran over to the closet in the room, tripped over a few things on the floor in the way over to it, and open the plastic container I keep strings in. And in there at the bottom of the stack, was a new unopened pack of D'Addario ETB92S Nylons. OK

The great thing about the one you got in the box is that most likely, if not definitely that no one else has messed around with it, so it's new condition. So if you got a deal with that, even better. Also cool that you had the strings on hand, so that's one thing you don't have to worry about afterwards. 8)

One of the first items I checked on both in box, and floor model was the pup position switch. Both were solid with no wiggles in them. It was cool to get one in the box at GC.

Sounds like a good deal, then. 8)
