I Need some help
my brand new Fender American Elite Dimension Bass V HH makes some rattling noise when playing the empty G string. It seems the origin is inside the neck. Is it possible the truss rod is vibrating due to some resonance? Or might there be something loose that shouldn't?

It is happened to my 1995 American standard Stratocaster. I just tightened the truss rod, 1/8 turn to feel nut "stop" ; problem fix.

Sometimes what we think are noises from the neck will actually be coming from elsewhere but the neck resonates it and makes it louder so it sounds like it is coming from the neck. Maple is a good vibration conductor. If a little truss rod adjustment did not work check string tree screw/screws, machine head screws, check that strings fit properly in nut and nut is properly seated. Check all screws everywhere on it.

Thank you for your answers.

releaseing and retightening the truss rod did not affect the noise.

Temporarily I thought it is in one of the pickups. But I can exclude this now.
Right now i think the origin is somewhere in the bridge and the noise is conducted into the neck as brotherdave said.
I will try to do some further adjustments and try to get rid of the noise.
I will report about my progress.

Hi folks,
I found the solution of the riddle. The saddles in the bridge of the D and the G string were a lilt bit tilted. This was the reason for, when resonating in distinct frequencies, that, due to the very small gap between the saddles, they were vibrating against one of their neighbors. After adjusting the tilting angles the noise has been gone

thx for your assistance
