I have a vintage '70's mustang bass that I "inherited" from my old high school. Well the truss rod is shot and I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find a replacement neck. I'd like to take the rattle out of it cuz it's really distracting.

One option is Ebay. Another is aftermarket, like www.warmoth.com or www.mightymite.com

You can also try Fender dealer where the inspect the neck, maybe Fender will send an OEM neck - for a price of course.

OK, just a couple things...are you SURE it's the truss rod and not something else, like say a loose machine head grommet? And take it to a repairman to see how much it'd cost to fix.It will preobably be cheaper to fix than buying a new neck.
