The tube preamps are really small. The six power tubes in the SB are good size. The transformer isn't too big.

I think I have three tubes in the preamp for the Orange, but I never opened it up or anything like that. I suppose someday I'll have to replace them if they die off.

I think the preamp tubes are about a nickel, to a quarter size in diameter, and stand about an inch high.

Yeah, they're pretty small. I remember having to replace one for my girlfriend's mic preamp in her studio.

Those little preamp tubes get stuffed into some small spaces, of some really small powerful heads. Like your Orange!

They do a pretty good job for getting a good tube sound. I know it's not 100% like having the full tube setup, but could you imagine the size and weight of a 1000 watt all tube head? I think someone actually made one somewhere, that I found from my internet travels. I should see if I can find that again.

I remember you posting the 1,000 watt tube head a few months ago, or longer. Then we got talking about the Coral Kilowatt head from 1969.

Yeah, I remember something about that now. That's some heavy duty equipment, there.

A 1,000 watts is a monster of an amp.

Not too be so bold, as to getting back to the subject of the Olympic White Mustang PJ, at some time in the future I'm probably going to acquire one. I already have the ETB92S Nylons for one.

Yeah, it would put this thread back on topic, at least. :P We have a tendency to do that around here, I think. You know how it goes when you're shooting the breeze. Would you get another model, or the same one you had back from before?

He can change the course of might rivers, bend steel in his bare hands,............ No, it's not Superman,.......... just Mr. Nylon. It's pretty easy to get onto another course.
It would be a new one, the other Mustang is gone.

Well, at least you wouldn't have to spend a lot of cash for one. They're pretty cheap for a Fender at least.

The Mustangs are one of the lowest priced basses. The QC on them is Right On, like the Spl. Edition White Opal Jazz. Lately from what I've seen, the MIM basses are well made.
