I know it really blew me away that it was 4.13 lbs. It was balanced, with no neck dive. It was nice, but I don't regret moving on from it. All things being equal, I prefer the Mustang PJ. I guess I'm more into the feel of the Fenders for comfort, and playability.

Yeah, I've noticed you've gravitated to those more than Gibsons or Rickenbackers.

I try not to limit my playing, I'm not that bad of player. But I do prefer the Fender for an overall good feel out of the case.

The way an instrument feels is very important, I think. Speaking of that, I love the way the violin bass feel, but looking at the neck in my hand, I realize how small it is. It's good, though. A little adjusting, but then again I do play a bit of guitar, so not too much of one.

Congrats on that aspect of the neck size to your guitar playing as well. It's sounding like you made a great choice for your hollow body. The neck on the Mustang is a basic Jazz neck, so I'm doing ok as well for that. Lucky for my playing, 6 stringers aren't in the mix.

Yeah, the funny thing about 6 strings, is I have this odd relationship with them. It's not exactly a love hate thing, because I do like them, just would rather have someone else play them. I've played them more out of a necessity thing, not because I wanted to be a guitarist. I guess it's just a comfort thing with me that I've been trying to get over. There's this weird nakedness with playing a guitar that I don't feel with a bass. Maybe it's the lack of low end with it? :P

Today was play the Mustang day. This shorty plays with a serious attitude through the Fender amp.

I remember you really liking that one before. That might just be your main bass after all.

Yep! It plays easy, and sounds great. It sounds even better through a tube amp. Not surprising, since it's based on a '72 Jazz, if I remember correctly.

Yeah,..... it really is. The Eminence Neo is in my opinion about on a par with JBL.

It's always good to have a decent speaker as part of your set up. 8)
