You only did a quarter turn on the truss, right?

I did two turns on it, checking the 1 frets each time. It looks pretty good. I don't think I overdid anything.

Hoping they weren't to large two turns. For most neck adjustments a 1/4 of a turn for so many hours, so the neck moves slowly, and takes a set.

I was playing it today and it's still holding up. I'm still going to leave the truss rod cover off, just in case. I think I didn't screw anything up, neck-wise.

That's a good move leaving the cover off until you're sure it's how you like it. You're probably ok with the neck, and the turns.

Yeah, it seems to be doing pretty good. The strings are a little stiff on them, which is typical with Rotosound flats when you first out them on, but then they break in a bit.

Pretty much all strings stretch out. Usually a week to ten days is about the normal break-in, and stretched out times. Nylons do it as well, it just doesn't seem that long with the Nylons. Image

One of these days, I would like to try out those nylons. I'm thinking either the Squier Jazz or the Peavey Zodiac bass, if I can get them fixed, would be good choices for that. The Ibanez isn't a vintage style bass, so I'm probably going to keep rounds on that one, since that's all there's been on there. I should have one bass for that so I can get that type of sound.

The couple of extra sets I had around were split on the ball end, from being through the body, and extreme angle over the saddles.

That caused the nylon wrapping to come off there?

The lighter strings do at times, the G, D, and sometimes the A. The E string just bends over the saddle being a .105 in size. The metal strings don't always fair to well either through the body on the Am. Std.'s. On the Am. Std.'s it's a pretty hard angle coming up from the body, and over the saddle.

Sometimes, they have the bridges that you can string through the body, or through the back of the bridge itself. I don't really remember the tonal difference of either option, since it's been years since I had an instrument that you had to string through the body. The only negative I remember from that option was it could be a pain in the arse to feed it through the body, sometimes.

The Am. Std.'s can string either way, I just preferred the through the body style. I never had an issue stringing through the body with them. It was the only way I played them.

I had a chance to play the Mustang PJ, and it's a fine one to get back.
