That grain is something. It's the first thing that caught my eye with the pic. All around nice looking bass. 8)

It does look pretty good. The grain in the fretboard, was the first thing caught my eye on it also. The head has a bit of grain running through it too.

I've been tracking it, and the tracking shows it's on it's way to the last long run from Ocala, to West Palm Beach.
If I didn't have the short scale Hofner, I jump on an Olympic White Mustang. I'd still like to get a Mustang though.

You have GAS for this Mustang, then?

On and off, I still want to see, and play one before possibly going for one. I have to admit, the Hofner has diminished the GAS for one. I really don't need a second short scale either.

Yeah, it would probably be best to play one first. They look cool, but from watching demo videos, I wound up liking the sound of the Squier Precision PJ Bass a lot more. Of course, that's all just personal preference.

That's interesting. Some of the off sounds from the Mustang could be the settings on it in the demo too. Strings, Etc. All that groovy stuff ya' know.

That's true. Ultimately, it's when you finally play it yourself then you know for certain.

Everyone has that certain sound they recognize as a good to them sound. The bass could be perfectly fine, just not that one for that player. Same thing with setups. What's good for one isn't good for others. It drives me nutz when I hear someone complain about a factory setup. There has to be a standard set, weather it's agreeable to one, or other.

I have two Musicmasters, one Squier and one Fender. And I have a Hofner. If I knew my band situations would stay the same for awhile I'd unload the Squier Musicmaster and get a new Mustang.

Although, I wish there was an option for a maple neck like the Squier Mustangs from a couple years ago had. They look great, I've played a Mustang and very similar to my Musicmaster so no doubts I'd like one of my own.

I bought one in olympic white. I've owned hundreds of Mustang basses over 4 decades and this is the one I have been waiting for. This thing is awesome!! The PJ setup is just what this bass has needed. The only thing I would suggest to Fender (or to those of us that like to mod stuff to make it better) is to put a stacked volume pot in it so we have separate control over the individual pickups, like a Jazz bass. With that mod this bass will be perfect!! Another slight "wish list" for this bass would be a string-through body bridge. Maybe they will do that soon?

Not a bad idea at all.

I guess I'm surprised to hear that they don't have a string through body bridge, like the originals. That was an upgrade I did to my '78 Musicmaster and I think it made a difference in the overall sound.
