I have to admit, I've had some GAS for these and the guitar versions, too. I think if I was able to buy another Fender instrument, it would be these first.

I saw the other day, SA had a couple in stock. I think the Olympic White was in stock.

Online, or you went in the store?

On line, I haven't been able to make it by the local store.

I suppose you would have tried it out if you went in and they had one. I know I would have. :P

You betcha'. I'd be very tempted to get one in Olympic White, and sell or trade in the Epi EB-3 on one.

That's what I'd figure you would probably do. By the way, how is that Epiphone? I didn't even knew you got one until I happened to notice a pic of it when I saw the pic of the fretless. Sometimes, I miss posts around here, especially if I don't log on for a day or two.

The Epi is good. If I have a chance though to get an Olympic White Mustang, I'll sell, or trade the Epi for a Mustang.

I don't blame you. I'd do the same thing if I could, and saw the Mustang. Although, I'm also GASing for a hollowbody, most likely a violin style bass, like the Hofner, since I think that's my best best for the price range. F-it, get both. :P

With the Fender necks, and boards, I know what to expect when playing them. The Epi was good but not as much as I like the Hofner, and the Fenders. The Mustang, other than being a short scale should play similar to typical Fender. I liked the feel of the Pawn Shop Mustang I had.

Plus, it looks pretty cool and you'll also have the P and J pickup configuration. What color would you want? They have three options. Olympic White, Sonic Blue, and Torino Red.

If I did go for a Mustang, the Olympic White would be the one. I like these without the racing stripe the Pawn Shop Mustangs had.

It's a tough choice for me. I've never had a blue instrument, so maybe the Sonic Blue, although that Torino Red does pop out to me. I have to admit the Olympic White does work well with that shape, too.

I have the Mustang on the back burner, since I have this Am. Std. Precision coming in.

That's an interesting development. Got a hankering for a P Bass? :P I take it they have a good deal on it?

I do like Precisions, just not as much as Jazzes. They have the $200. instant rebate going on the Am. Std., and I really like the grain in the fretboard on this one. I'm a real sap Olympic White, with Maple too. I just may keep the Tort on this one, after I remove the PG film from it too. 8)
