My body's more messed up now than it was then. All this garbage started a day after my 65th BD in Feb.

Now you know why I've been busting my $@! trying to and stay in shape. I was starting to seriously break down before I did and what happened to my dad was certainly a wake up call. He's 40 years older than me, but he was in better shape than I was. I think if I didn't do anything, I'd be lucky if I even could reach 55, much less 65.

My recent medical emergency, had nothing to do with being in, or out of shape. All of the specialists have no idea what caused my condition, other than it was a serious condition that had to be delt with immediately.
It's a good thing to be in better shape, no matter what. It gave me a damn good kick in the azz to drop some pounds too.

They couldn't figure out what caused your lung to collapse?

They believe the lung collapsed because of the hardening fluids on the outside of the lung. What has everyone baffled, is what caused the hardening fluids to appear in the first place. (I don't know!)

Something obviously did. Would have been nice to know, though.

That's what my wife has been asking the doctors all along. I'd like to know also, but then again, I'm just glad I made it through the whole thing. A month ago today was the surgery.

As long as it doesn't come back to bite you on the arse, whatever it was you had wrong.

lol, but what can you do when every Dr. hasn't a clue. I'm just glad I literally survived the surgery. If something goes wrong again in the future, I'll hopefully make it through it again. Ay least I didn't have any AK47 fire to deal with.

That's true. That reminds me of my cousin, who did at least two tours over there in the Marines, and survived what I'd call a meat grinder, from what I heard how bad it was (he could have been at Khe Sanh,) and died by some freak thing of falling off a balcony and landing on concrete, when there was a softer, grassy area inches away. I think Vietnam would have done him in, even though he survived being there, from what I understand. He had that crap with being exposed to Agent Orange, so who knows how long that would have lasted? I was kind of wondering if what happened to you is related, but I imagine that would have come out years ago, or probably within the first few years you were back, wouldn't it have?

It would have shown a lot sooner, it only effected the right lung, and it would have left traces. This Magical Mystery of my condition, literally has no traces, no cancer, and no bacterial, or viral infections. Beats the hell out of me, and every Dr. Maybe I'll make it in a Medical Journal. Image

That's really bizarre. Obviously, something caused that, but what? Aliens doing experiments on you, or something? Well, hopefully it won't happen again.

Like I said to an old friend today, All the king's horses, and all the king's men, couldn't tell Glenn what happened again. I'm to the point of this where I'm just glad I made it through the surgery.

Maybe a big cyst that popped and the fluid wound up in the trunk cavity?

I seem also to remember a guy I knew back around 1990 who had a few lung collapses from what he said were like boils that grew in his trunk cavity.
