That's pretty cool. 8) Shocking that they actually put out a bass model with these, though. :P

Everything seems to be coming up "PJ". I would've preferred string through the body.

I wonder what the price is going to be on these? I don't recall them saying that.

Check out the over seas distributers, and on line connections for any early information on Fender products.

True. They seem to get first dibs on these things. :P

I wonder how that works. Did you ever wonder why?

I don't know, they like Fender more over there? :P Either that, or they are on top of the new gear coming out, or something like that.

When I rebuilt my '78 Musicmaster a couple years ago, with the intention of having my son airbrush it. I purchased a 2nd '70's body and used that, so I still have the original pickup/body/pickguard etc. stored away.

But part of the rebuild, which made a huge difference in the tone, was installing a four magnet SD pup and a string through body bridge. Now the tone of the '78 and the Squier reissue Musicmaster with the "Vista Tone" pickup are very similar.

That was a good idea, in case you ever wanted to sell it, for whatever reason.

The main reason was that we had no idea how successful we would be painting a guitar body. TONS of trial and error, sand - prime - paint, nope, sand - prime- paint, nope, again and again. Took months of playing around.

Did you have a definite idea on what you wanted when you started?

Hey WI KISSfan. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing. Do we know when the new PJ Mustang will be available in stores? I want one!

The "loose" idea when we started was something along the lines of Clapton's Crashocaster #1 design.

So this.....

Became this. My son was a senior in high school when he airbrushed this for me......
