Yep. Like I said, it was almost pawning it. I then went, and got it out of hock. Nice to have it back in the cave.

Yeah, and now you have quite the selection to choose from to play.

Yeah,...... today I went with the Viola to get a bit more of the feel for playing it. A little buzz, but just on the bass. It doesn't come through the amp. It needs more playing time.

That can happen. Unfortunately, mine got really bad, but I was able to fix it by tweaking the truss rod. That also happened to my other bass recently, like I've mentioned earlier. So far, I haven't had any more problems, though.

I'll give it more time before I try a reset on the truss rod. It may need it though.

Me too. I've never cared to adjust necks myself.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I didn't have much of a choice, though.

I'm going to be doing a some wheeling and dealing with the Mustang, and the Viola, towards an Adam Clayton Jazz. It may take a bit of time, but I'm in no hurry. I just need to have a starting point, and unfortunately, the Mustang, and the Viola, are it.

Well, that didn't last long. :P So what was the general consensus with the Viola bass?

It's good. I'm just not as much for one since I was way back when. Short scales in general too.

Well, sometimes things that we liked when we were younger don't carry on to when we're older, and I guess that goes to gear as well. I take it you weren't too keen with the smaller neck, then?

No, it just didn't do it. Yes on the older thing too.

Well, at least I'd know if I were to somehow get my hands on one of those Viola basses, it would be an improvement over the one I have now, at least in the pickup department, which really is the one thing that could use an improvement, so at least it would match the output of the other basses a little better.
