I just went outside and painted my mim standard j bass pickgaurd black. It started out white with a sunburst finish. It looks amazing. It makes my bass look sooo different. I have a brown tortise shell gaurd on order so I figured it would be ok if I messed it up. I just thought you j bass owners would like to know. :D

Did you paint it Flat black? Any prep work or just a straight-up spray?

And you saved yourself some money by not having to buy a black one.
