I'm putting a new pot in my Bass Player's Squier.Here's the model;http://hotrf.eu/product/3466/squier-by-fender-deluxe-jazz-bass-v-active-rw-olympic-white.html I'm replacing the 25k Volume Pot.Is this just a Audio/Log Taper?Thanks in advance!

Hi Soupbone71! I would think it is audio taper. It may even have an "A" mark on it somewhere to verify that but I would only use audio (log) taper pots for volume controls.

Before changing it, have you tried cleaning it? A good squirt of Deoxit can go a long way.

Thanks Brother Dave!Yeah,I sprayed it with deoxit,and used canned air,and it was still scratchy.There wasn't any symbols on the pot.It just said,"Alpha 25k".Thanks for your help!

Tone pots can be linear taper, but volume pots are always audio taper. A linear taper pot will work, but because of the way the human ear perceives volume changes when turning the pot you won't like a linear taper much to control volume.
