Hello.
This is my first post on this forum. I am from Poland, so would like to say Hello to all :)
I have a new Fender Modern Player Jazz Bass Satin. Bought several months ago. I think, it is very good bass guitar, and am happy to have it.
But there is one thing, that disturbs my hapiness :( When I'm touching the strings, even gently, I can hear a click sound coming from the speakers. The same click sound is created, when I touch the metal parts of the pickups. What I can do to remove this unwanted effect? Especially it is preventing on concerts, when the sounding is really big.

Best greetings
Andrew from Poland

Welcome to the forum .

Click sound ??? Not hum or buzz ?

Most of the time , a noise when touching metal parts is a bad guitar/ bass ground ( in the bass ) .

Do you hear that with no effect ? Only bass and amp ? Wire from the bass to amp must be good .

Amp ground and wall outlet ground must be in good working order .

1- Try another bass in the amp
2- Try another amp with your bass
3- Try your amp in other room , best is in another house with good electric circuit .
4- which amp do you use

Hmm. Maybe "click" is not good word. Maybe I should say "crackle". I am using a very old Laney Pro-Bass combo (150W, 4x10 speakers), but this unwanted sound is also on my friends Kustom amp. Using two different wires, and in several places. When I am using my Laney, there is no hum, but only this crackle, when I am touching the strings. The ground wire under the bridge looks to be good.

This is likely an amp grounding issue. Touching the strings will quiet a hum usually though instead of causing one. This could be caused by improper grounding in the electrical wiring and not by your amp or your instrument. If you brought your friend's Kustom amp in and powered it from the same circuit that powered the Laney amp and both amps did it, then it is an electrical fault in the site wiring. Try the amps in a different location on a different circuit.

If it still does it in a second location, try the same amp with any other electric guitar or bass and see if you can duplicate it. If not then the fault is in the instrument and it needs a tech to evaluate it. While it "looks" ok on the surface, sometimes cold solder joints will cause unreliable or inadequate contact. Good luck sorting it out. It is often just a process of elimination.

Oh, one final thought. It also could be voltage is being generated by YOUR human body and passed to the strings! It is rare, but it happens. I have a friend who can not wear a quartz watch for this reason.

It could be the electrical outlet that you're plugged into. You might have a fan on in the house. Turn it off and see if the click is still there. This happens in my house.

Read the first post ;

" When I'm touching the strings, even gently, I can hear a click sound coming from the speakers. The same click sound is created, when I touch the metal parts of the pickups.... "

I just had a ground problem that was caused by an electrical strip that wasn't grounding properly. Changed out the electrical strip, no ground sound problems through the amp.

What do you call a electrical strip ? A power bar ?

Remember that the OP is in Poland. We don't know if the amp has Central European, Eastern European or some other power cord wiring or even a US market amp going through a converter. Perhaps we should wait for the OP to come back with additional info.

Hahaha... The case has been explained. The disturbances was caused by... bad grounding in one of effects of my bands friend - a guitarist. His hand made effect had a bad grounding, and because of it, my bass was clicking. And also second guitarists Gibson Les Paul was generating hums. Today he repaired that effect, and the fenders clicks and gibsons hums are gone. One bad effect caused disturbances in all the electrical devices. Though I can not understand, how it is posiible. Electricity is like a magic.
Thank all of You for your advices :)
Greetings.
Ajgor
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Hey, don't worry about your English; it's pretty good, and a lot of us should do so well in another language. It's just great that you are able to communicate so well in English.
