Hey so I tried playing the bass over sometime and made me score a Modern Player Jazz Bass for me to play with. But I have less knowledge over the best strings with their gauges that would complement well with my bass.

Any opinions? I play Alternative Rock and Slow Rock. and I prefer a mild but not too heavy tone so my bass lines would feel more emotional, yeah something like that

One suggestion, find a player on a recording with the tone you like. Find out what strings they use (often easier to do than you might think) and try those same strings. Of course they are playing a different Jazz (probably USA made,) have a different playing style, different amp, different effects, different EQ and other factors which all means yours will sound different from theirs. However picking a tone you like and chasing after it with the same strings is a good start.

Strings are such a personal decision that you can ask 20 different players and get 20, 40 or even 80 different string suggestions. I use 4 different sets and maybe not a single one of them would be right for you! Therefore it would be slightly irresponsible for me to wildly throw suggestions out there without knowing specifically what tone you seek. Your "Alternative Rock and Slow Rock. and I prefer a mild but not too heavy tone," description is still kind of broad. In these types of music there are many bass tones used! What player do you want to sound like and on which recording? Find out what they use and give those a try.
