Can anyone recommend a good stand (for home) for my AS Jazz Bass? Thank-you :)

I really like the folding Fretrest Stand. Got mine at Guitar Center. it holds Jazz basses very well.

I use the "FLIP-IT" stands made by On-Stage Stands. They have a flipping mechanism for holding the neck in place should it get bumped or you have an earthquake. They are larger and bulkier than some other stands but safer. They are also affordable. Hercules makes good stands too, but cost 3 times as much.

This is the Flip-It model I use. I have three of them and have had no issues with them at all.

Since I bought mine they came out with a more compact A-Frame type which I'd try if I needed another or a replacement:

These are carried at Guitar Center in Charlotte, NC.

That new one looks pretty good. I'm a fan of a-frames. They've been bumped and there was an earthquake about 35 miles away. They stood tall! The only thing that they can't handle is Wifey, she won't admit knocking one over, I can tell by the way she puts it back and sometimes, a string is out of tune.

Luckily no dents or dings, yet. (Insert heavy sigh here)

I have one of those 'A-Frame' stands. It's an old Rouge brand from Musician's Friend. Works very well for both Jazz and Precision body styles. Very stable. 8)

+1 on the Hercules. Plus it doesn't mess with nitro. I have a couple of these.

True about not messing with nitro. Hercules does something different in their foam. Very solid stands also.

Ultimate Support GS-100 Height-adjustable Genesis Series Guitar Stand with Locking Legs, Hanging-style Yoke and Security Strap

http://www.ultimatesupport.com/product/GS-100W

Works great with the offset Jazz Bass body. Plus, there is nothing for the cables to get wrapped around if you remove it or place it on the stand on a break. If there is any consolation, I do recall Pino Palladino using them with the John Mayer Trio.

Hercules Stands Single Guitar Stand with Folding Yoke is my fave.

Because of the outset body design and it's shape a Jazz Bass doesn't sit well on any stand. I have used a Hamilton Hanging Type Stand in the past and currently use and own several Hercules Hanging Stands with Folding Yokes. Very Sturdy and Reliable. They go for about $48.
