Played my MIJ Marcus Miller jazz bass today but have been playing my USA Geddy Lee Jazz bass a lot as well as a Jetglo Rickenbacker 4003 I picked up in July .... I never owned a Rickenbacker & always wanted one so I took the plunge .... nice playing
Bass I really enjoy playing it though I'll always be a Fender guy. :D

Hello James. The Jetglo 4003 is a nice player, I like mine too. You obviously like the USA GL, over the MIM GL. How is the feel of the neck for you on the USA GL? The USA GL's neck I tried felt a bit to thick for me. But it sound really nice.

Hi Mr. Nylon I have both the MIM & USA GL basses .... the neck on the MIM is true to the original 72 Jazz that Geddy has ... he is on his 3rd neck for this bass ... the most recent neck is what's on the USA GL Custom Shop made it for him in 2010 it's a bit beefier I like both basses .... The pick ups on the USA are also modified to what Geddy had done at the same time by Custom shop ..... both versions of this bass are killer .... Geddy Lee has had constant imput from what I understand with regard to this bass being sold with his name on it.

Thanks for the heads up on the USA GL. I do think it's one great jazz.
I'm locked in on the basses I'm playing now. The Ampeg setup has brought the sounds together that I like. The AC Jazz is pretty much my answer to an Am. Std. Jazz.

The AC Jazz is one nice bass. I find that the neck on the USA GL has a similar feel to my MIJ Marcus Miller jass bass minus the laquer . The USA GL has an oiled neck.

I gotcha' on the oiled neck. I'll have to look at one again to see that.

Ooops ! I made an error in my earlier post. I have a 2006 CIJ Geddy Lee Jazz bass & not a MIM as I posted. :)

Thanks ! I've played several MIM GL Jazz basses at local music stores to see how they compare to CIJ & MIJ Geddy Lee jazz basses & I have to say the quality of this bass is very consistent. I have read posts on other bass forums where some have had issues with this bass but the complaints are few , .... I think this bass is a lot of bang for the buck.

I have no issues with my MIM GL Jazz. Everything is a perfect fit, and it plays great.

When the sounds are there, play it more.
