I remember that they had two different variations of a 4 x 10" combo. The one that you had with the HyDrive speakers, and another that was their HA3500 with that VX series cab, with the paper drivers. I thought the one with the HA3500 head looked interesting (it was also out a long time before the HyDrive series) at the time, which was also before the Rumble 2nd generation came out, and all of that.

I never actually got to play on one, but I did play through an HA3500 head paired with that VX series 4 x 10" cab at the shop that I got that Peavey Zodiac bass from, and it was also the amp that I played through to try out other basses, as well. I have to say, at the time, I was pretty impressed with the sounds I got from it (then again, I've used those HA series amps in the past, and liked them, even though I never owned one,) and it did put out some bass. It seemed to be pretty loud, and it was only running at 8 ohms, too. That would have been 240 watts I think, from what I remember from their specs. It's 350 watts into 4 ohms. From what I remember reading about the combo, it's actually running at 4 ohms, so the whole 350 watts is going into it, and you couldn't run an extra cab with it.

What I would have done, if I had wound up with that amp (which oddly enough, if I had done that, you'd have never known me, because I never would have had any reason to join the Fender Forum, because then I would have never bought that Rumble combo years ago when I did,) I would have eventually tried to replace the speakers in it with something like Eminence, or Jensen, since from what I understood, their paper speakers weren't the greatest. I mean they did sound pretty good, but I also heard they weren't the strongest ones out there, and a speaker upgrade always can make a huge difference.

If possible, I would consider 10" Hartke HD speakers. They sound good at least in the Hartke cab.

Oh yeah, but those weren't out yet, at the time. I wonder even if they sell those as replacement speakers, by themselves? I never looked into it.

I have a new respect for the aluminum Hartke HyDrive speakers in the HD210 cab.The TX600 head really does match up well with the HD210 cab. I never thought I'd get a Hartke half stack to perform as i looked it to do.

That's good that you found an amp combination that you're happy with. 8)

My bigger gear sounded good, but I just like the tones from the Hartke stuff. Pretty good for an old man.

It should still hold it's own, as well, ever if you needed it in that sort of situation.

Not that I would get into a large venue, but as for a jam, or studio session, I would believe the Hartke would hold it's own. It would be sweet for a studio session.

Most definitely. You could also add another cab, if you needed to move the extra air, as well.

That would also bring the TX600 head, from 450 watts, to 600 watts. Luckily 450 watts is a bit more than I need.

Yeah, at least you know you have it if you want it. 8)

It's Ironic to me that I have the gear after all these years, and it's Hartke.

Well, Jack Bruce used Hartke, as well as a few other more famous musicians, so I suppose they can't be that bad. 8)

True, but Hartke appears to never get the expectance of the trade.

True, and it's been around a long time now, too. I'd say at least 1984, for the aluminum coned cabs, if I'm not mistaken. I'd have to look it up to confirm that, though.
