Yeah, he did. Speaking of which, did you ever hear about his son, Ginger Baker's son, and I think a nephew, or some other relation of Eric Clapton, playing the music of Cream?

Yeah, but not to much info on it. Cream never dies! I listen to Cream all the time. My cellphone ringtone is, "Sunshine Of You Love".

I haven't listened extensively to them in a while, (probably because I get overwhelmed with 9000 other bands, going all over the friggin' place with genres and time periods, ) but the last time I did, I found this video of this concert that was filmed in the 90's with Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and Gary Moore on guitar, doing Cream songs, that I thought was really good. I should look it up and post it in the lounge.

You know, Jack was the inspiration for your HyDrive cab, with the combination of paper and aluminum cones. When they had the reunion in 2005, he was using a combination of Hartke aluminum and those paper cone cabs.

He was into the HyDrive speakers big time. He probably was the most famous player to use Hartke gear. I used a Hartke HyDrive 410 Combo years ago. I don't know if it was me, the amp, or the basses I was playing through it at the time, but I never got the sound out of it I wanted. It may have even been the room I was playing it in too. To small of a room is probably worse than a larger one to play in.

You know, that particular Hartke head, which also was in that combo, has the same sort of EQ system that the Orange has, to where each one is like a volume knob, and effects the other, and to be flat, the bass and treble have to be boosted. I guess they call it stacked EQ? It's a pain in the arse to get dialed in, especially in smaller rooms, or your cabs, which I had a problem with, so that might have been a factor. Personally, I love a graphic EQ, to where your amp is flat without it, and you can add or subtract any frequencies. I guess the parametric EQ is similar, to the graphic kind. Yeah, the bass you have is also a factor, too.

It's sad that when you go to the Hartke site, he's no longer on the artist's page. His son is there, though. I wonder if he inherited his father's music gear?

Not all of the gear is actually their own personal gear. It's common for road gear to be the property of the touring corporation under the band's name. It's a better way for the gear to be a corporate entity. The corporation owns it. If something happens to it, the corporation's insurance covers it, not the player's insurance. If they even have insurance. Also, the corporation buys certain expensive gear, such as amps. Guitars, basses, and drums are usually a player's expense. Some Hammond B3's are personal as well.

That's true, there is backline companies that rent stuff out. I imagine bands coming over from Europe also have to rent out stuff (or vice versa) when they play the US, because of shipping costs/issues, and their voltage is different. I remember reading about the Who and the Rolling Stones back in the 60's with some sort of issues relating towards that.

The differences in the voltage is enough to say leaver it at home. Unless you were Jimi Hendrix going to England. The Lord of Loud, Jim Marshall, stored a couple of complete Marshall stack sets made exclusively for JMH.

I've seen pics of him using Sunn amps, as well. I think Noel Redding wound up using those, if I'm not mistaken.

The old-timers say, at least at one time most of the big head liners used Sunn Amps. On the cover of the Woodstock 2 album cover, there's a Sunn Amp on stage. That was August 1969.

I do know they had the Acoustic amps, at least. Santana actually used one of the first what would become Gallien Krueger amps for that Bob Gallien made. What was the Who using, I don't remember? I'd have to look it up.

Yeah, I'll bet they were. John Paul Jones had two of them in Led Zeppelin, and that seemed to have kept up with the rest of the band.
