I wonder if Fender ever made any OEM stuff? They've certainly bought out amp companies, though.

Yeah, I noticed that trend. I'm just glad that at least Guild was spared, and Cordoba bought out the company from them. That's another one that makes some good stuff. I remember seeing they had amplifiers back in the day, as well.

Would you say Sunn was one of your favorite amps you've ever used?

Somewhat of a tie between the Sunns, and the Acoustics for second. The Kustoms were my overall number one. The Kustom 250 with the 2X15 JBL cabs were the top. Something about the sounds they had.

Our guitarist has one of those Kustoms at the practice space. Actually, he has two. A 250 model and a 200 model, plus a 3 x 15" and 2 x 15" cabs. The speakers are a bit worn out, though. I've never tried the heads, just used the 2 x 15" cab with the Orange head.

I'll still say the Kustom amps were the finer amps at that time. The Kustom PA was a great beginning to get local bands to actually use a PA, and not Silvertone, or Fender Bassman amps as PA's.

He has one of those Kustom PAs, too. I think it's the 150 model.

The friend I sold the EB0 to, was the one with the Kustom 250, and in the band that got the Kustom PA. I don't remember the PA's model, but it was loud, and sounded great. Shure put out a PA at the same time. I thought the Kustom was better.

Johnny Cash used a Kustom PA back in the day, from what I've read. I think it was either being auctioned, or on display in some museum kind of thing, probably in Nashville.

I can believe that. The Kustom PA's really were good.
