HI,
I have a MIM Deluxe Active Jazz bass 5 string with vintage noiseless pickups.
I like the sound of the VN's but they seem very weak in output and when ever I slap hard on the strings I get this weird "popping" noise. I tried lowering the front pickup and it helped a bit but it still does it but not as much. I want to know if a set of the new SCN noiseless pickups will be a big improvement as far as output goes and will it help me get rid of that popping sound? If not , can anyone suggest another humbucker that would give me as close to a Fender single coil sound as possible? I've heard good things about Fralins, Nordstrands, SD's and Aeros.
Thanks,
