I am extremely pleased with my new MP Jazz V. When I compare the string retainer on the headstock with other models it seems this is the only potential "weak link" on the bass. How durable is this string retainer? At some point should I consider replacing it with the typical "round" string trees of other Fender products or something more exotic?
Thanks!

Congratulations walldaja! Happy for you and hope you enjoy your new bass to the fullest. If it aint broke, don't fix it! It should fulfill it's purpose for a lifetime.

For a part like that, I agree. If it loosens, or breaks then deal with it. But it shouldn't.
