I just got a new American Deluxe Jazz V. I want to be sensitive to eventual resale value. Is it cool to remove the American flag and blue JAZZ BASS V stickers from the pick guard and save them? Or might that affect value?

Those stickers are affixed to a plastic film that covers the entire pickguard. If left in situ for a prolonged period the adhesive holding the film in place will eventually cause discoloration to the pickguard and may etch the plastic beneath it. Best to remove the film early on before this occurs.

They won't mean anything for resale, etc.

If you remove the American flag from the pick guard make sure you fold and store it properly. I'm serious. 8)

You can also keep the decals as "candy", which some buyers and collectors prefer.

I agree,... I peeled of the stickers that were on my American Deluxe Jazz 5 pick Guard & stuck them on the clear plastic bag that the case candy comes in. :)

I've done the same thing with some of them.
