Besides $400, does anyone know the significant advantages the deluxe may have over the standard? Thank-you.

Timely post - I am right now deciding between an American Standard and Deluxe Jazz.

Do people find there is much difference in the playability between the Deluxe and Standard?

I can live without the active pups and aesthetics.

Thank you.

I imagine one could set up each type of bass and make it play really well. I don't care too much for active but I have an active so it's okay AND Thanks go out to all who have pacipitated here on the Fender thread about Am Std and AM Dlux. Thank you !!! I think we are more polite here than people in any city in India.

I am going with an American Std.

I'll buy two and customise one.
