Now there, that I have your attention; has anyone experimented with pots?
What I mean is swapping out the traditional bass potentiometers of 250 k ohms and using 500 k or even 1 meg values.
or even going as far as removing pots (no tone) or even wiring pickup directly to output jack and using amplifier preamp for all EQ values?
Any other ideas shared would be appreciated.

I have come by experimentation to really prefer the following jazz bass control configuration.
Instead of having 2 volume and one control for tone I will use one blend only that is wired to a on/off switch and then finally to the output jack mounted on a 3 hole Fender control plate. All tone and volume control is taken care of at the amplifier (and fingers on the strings) :D david
