Hi ,

I have a broken bass case to repair . The real problem is the broken corner , the one on the peg head side .
I'd like to glue a wood made corner under the plush . I need to know how much space inside the case I had between the peg head and the corner of the case.
How "big " the piece of wood I can glue ?

I don't have any bass to check . Could somebody give me the measurements between the bass peghead and the corner ?

Thank's

I need to know mesurements like this photo ( Strat & case )
Tape reading , inside the case , up in the photo
and reading , inside the case , tape on left side on the photo

I would advise duplicating the same dimensions as exist on the opposite corner of the case.

Some cases are made for Fender Jazz basses, which are longer than Fender Precision basses. The answers to your questions will differ depending on which bass is used to arrive at the measurement you inquired about.

The case is for a Jazz bass.

The distance between the bass peg head end and the corner side is 1 and 1/4 inches.

The distance between the end of the peg head and the end of the case is also 1 and 1/4 inches.

I hope that helps.

Tank's for the dimensions , I find how to fix it . I put a piece of steel with 4 philips head bolts with finishing washer.

See photos

2- With piece of steel

Hello "stratele52", great bass case job, may I ask what kind of glue did you use to attach back the cloth linings of the case?
Thank you very much!
Bon

Hi bonruiz..
I use Arrow glue stick with the Bostick electric glue gun . This glue are great , easy to work and glue almost everything . Some glue stick dry faster than other , many choice.

Great tool for all kind of work . Glue also damaged Tolex , piping .

+1

3M Super Strength contact cement (in the 4-inch tube) is also an excellent adhesive for bonding dissimilar materials -- it sets up quickly and permanently holds just about anything.
