I've just borrought a Jazz bass 1962-65 model and have patiently begun to fix it. How can I find out what mount of money I shall offer for it? The owner is a good friend of mine that bought it new (round -64). He has never played on the bass, but other people shurly has... But..This is the bass I've been searching for for nearly 30 years now,and I knew at once this was the bass I've been looking for.Can anybody tell what I may have to pay him and still be friends with him :?

Welcome to the forum.

An all original 62 in good condition would probably fetch a pretty hefty amount.

Remember the old saying: If you have to ask how much, you probably can't afford it.

In my vision I saw myselfe play "The Dry Cleaner From Des Moines" for my friend when he's waking up in the mornings and "blackbird" in the evening when he's going to bed...Some people said to me once that: This can't be bought for all the money in the world. I'd like other people to tell me what they think of my idea/solution.Come on ,shoot..Don't be afraid. I'm on the other side of the atlantic sea,for gods sake.OK,I'm just kidding. The bass is mine and I got it as a present from the man 4 days ago.I saw the same model was sold for 30.000,- dollars, but compared to this one I got..I don't even have a scratchy noise in the pots, and the neck... I'm so lucky! I did two conserts this friday and saturday with it,and no-one who was there had ever heard me play like that. Ever! Thank you ,Fender. Fantastic! Warmest greetings from "Kito" ,NORWAY

I am really sorry about the joke I did,but you have to try to understand what this present are doing to my mind. I still don't believe it. I'm re-born as a bass player.Thank you for your time and hope no-one got seriously angry. OK? I wish you all get the instrument that fits each one of you in the near future.

That was just wrong. Only joking, congratulations on your fantastic present. Just remember , if you ever make it to California, Chet will probably be looking for you, he doesn't appreciate bad jokes like that.

Just kidding Chet.
