I use Rotosound Jazz Bass 77 flats, gauged 100-80-60-40. I was using the heavier gauged ones, but I found these more flexible. I suppose would be the best way to describe it. I was thinking about the Rotosiund Tru Bass 88 strings, since I do like the brand, but they are gauged 115-100-75-65, which is quite a difference.

I also was using 77s but gauged 105 prior to nylons. What bass are you using?

My main bass is a Schecter Diamond Jazz Bass, but I also have a few others. Although, some of them are in need of repair.

I am guessing Nylons should be ok. Is your truss rod 1 way or 2 way?

I have a Am. Std. Fretless showing up maybe, Thursday, 3/31. It will be nice to play a fretless again.

It's been awhile since you had one. By the way, what happened to the Geddy Lee? I take it you had to sell it to get the other basses?

Yeah Paul,.... they sure do. Other than that,......... It does look like the Fretless should be in Thursday. The Tort PG looks pretty good on this one. But those Flat strings are a goner.

Of course, I'd probably change the strings, too. Although, I might leave flats on for a while if they came with the bass, depending on how they felt and all of that. You know, I've actually thought about using round wound strings on one of the basses, but not my main one. I thought about something different to do. It would be Rotosounds, of course. Get some Ox twang. :P You ever thought about doing that, especially if you have an extra bass?

I would maybe do Flats again, but other than that, the Nylons sound good. I had the volume up a bit on the SG Spl. today. It sounded great through the Super Bassman. I have the Nylons on that one too. ETB92M's.

I originally switched to flats to cut down on string noise, but I did use rounds for years. Oddly enough, I didn't even care what brand they were, too. Usually, what was cheap (D'Addarios, for the most part.) I think when I was able to get better gear, I paid more attention to that detail. Perhaps, to get the best out of what I have, I suppose.
