Alright, I'm going to be buying a new bass soon. I've decided on a Jazz, but I'm unsure on which kind. At first I thought I'd go for the Standard, but I wanted something more. So I thought about the Highway One basses. They aren't too much more than the Standards, so I was wondering, is it worth it? Advantages? Thanks a lot. :)

If you can afford the Highway One, get it.

It has a Badass Bass II bridge, a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that lets the body breathe and improves resonance, and the Posiflex Graphite Neck Support Rods in the neck (stronger, more stable and easier to adjust).

Note, the bodies finish is satin. It does not have much of a shine. It can be buffed to shine by somebody who is skilled with finishes. Regardless, it is an improvement in tone and relic appeal.

Lastly, it is made in the U.S.A.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't played a Highway One yet, but the Standards I played were defintely good for me. But if I can get better quality parts, etc, then I'll go with the Highway One.

Made in America is a big plus to me, as well as the BadAss II.

Eh, I'm not a fan of Sigs. It looks to be a decent bass, but I'd rather have something I can make my own.

GL sig is not even $900, $849 street which is the same as the HWY1, it's also a CIJ instead of MIA which doesn't mean anything since the CIJ basses are of great quality. OP also states he's likes the MIA...and later he doesn't like sig models.
