Hey guys, I've been thinking of installing a new bridge pickup on my Geddy Lee Jbass, the Fender Custom Shop 60's Jbass pickups. Would it be a good move or would it mess up the sound of the Geddy bass? I only want to buy 1 pickup, not the whole thing. Also would I have to change any of the volume pots or tone pots?

Wanting to hear your input
Thanks!

I for one won't do it, and if you've read my posts here, I'm for modding your basses. The main reason is, you got a sig model, you paid more due to the sig on the back of the headstock, why now change the sound. You could've done this by getting a cheaper bass.

But, the final result, it's your bass, do what you want to it. It's not like you can't put the original pu back on if you would sell the bass.

Whatever you change will slightly alter the sound. You can always go back to the way it was.

I have the same bass i don't mod basses Unless i have some money after buying them. I think it would sorta mess-up the sound. i would keep it as is. I like to keep the sound as is. so i can play rush songs and my bass sounds just like it.
