It had been in the line for a number of years, it was time to do another year. They did the same with the 57 and 62 AVRI P-basses. The AVRI series are all first rate instruments.

Models and colours come and go. Get 'em while they're hot!

OK, well ... I guess some colours don't really go, like sunbursts and olympic white.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Sunburst and Oly White are considered safe bets, ie: "bread-and-butter" models. Black and some incarnation of red are usually offered as well. Great for minimizing corporate risk but the more esoteric colors like Ocean Turquoise Metallic, Ice Blue Metallic, Shoreline Gold, etc are usually neglected and ignored. A pity, really......

:(

I agree, totally. At least they're putting out a little more variety recently. They even have some new options with the budget Squier models. Lake Placid Blue, Burgundy Mist, etc. I wish they had that for all of the models.
