I invested $149.00 and upgraded my Mexican Fender Jazz Bass to sound as good as a American Deluxe Jazz Bass, which sells for MSRP: $1,899.99.
If you own a MIM Jazz Bass upgrade to the SCN pickups, just do it you will be Amazed.

Not sure on that one. I don't think it's wide enough. Seymour Duncan (bassline) have the 5 string J pups tho.

Check out www.billlawrence.com I just ordered Jazz Bass pups from him and I know he makes them for 5 strings.

Hey, Y'all,
Fender does offer SCN pickups in five string option. Look around. There are usually some on Ebay quite often.

Yup and he did a great job. Have one bridge position SCN on my American series 5 string fretless Fender Jazz bass.

Several years ago right after Bill Lawrence moved his own company to Corona CA. to be closer to Fender my brother and I got to down and spend the day with Bill and his wife Becky. They actually closed shop for several hours for our visit. My brother and I are considered family by Bill and Becky.
I am on the left in the picture, Bill is in the middle, and my brother Robin is on the right.

Becky told me the other day that Bill does spend some time reading posts here on the forum.

You should hear him play guitar! I heard him play songs by Bach, Beethoven, and several other classical writers.
