Stumbled across picture and had to share. A mechanic at a Texaco station, must have been right after work, looking at the clothes. Good years, driving hot cars and playing in a band. Evidently finger style even back then. Don't hold it that low anymore. Man, I was skinny and had hair.

The jazz I bought used in 65, so it had to be a 62,63 or 64. No clue which. I see my Army pic on the mantle so this had to be after that, probably 71 or 72? Everything in that picture is gone now, except me, I just got fatter and balder.

How about some Memory Lane photos from you?

Me Likey! All my old photos were either destroyed or simply tossed out long ago, so nothing from me.

The blocks and binding on your Jazz Bass's neck are hallmarks of a '66 or later instrument -- one of the few worthwhile things that CBS did during their ownership of Fender (another being the drip-edge molding on the first silverface amps).

Kewl pic.

Rawk on!

Thanks for that input. I suppose it could be a 66. My brain says I bought it in 65 but that particular piece of equipment has been known to error on occasion. I was absolutely delighted to find out my 50th Anniversary Jazz is a mirror image of my first bass. I am holding the 50th A in my group shot. What a neat coincidence!! Now I have to keep that one, no doubt about it.

Both are very cool pictures...especially the blast from the past.

Your curly cord brought back some fond memories of buying one ever month because they didn't hold up.

LOL! Yup, and they still don't. Got a curly with a bass I bought a few weeks ago, used it twice, just because it was in the case, before the amp started sounding like a war zone.

How'd you get the pic of me at the Texaco?
