Every time my thermometer out back in the shade reaches over 100 degrees the forum really slows down. That's okay because I'm working on my latest addition to the stable . It's not a Jazz so forgive me from posting this here on the Jazz hits. It IS a P bass of sorts though .

He found a bass in his shed that Fenton left behind the last time he was through.

Well that would certainly qualify as a "P of sorts".

We'd best be thankful that it's basses he's leaving behind... :P

He done left me a solid one piece Swamp Ash body stained Walnut with tongue oil finish and with a Maple set in frets(Jumbo) one piece neck-- all gold hardware-- what looks like an early Dimarzio covered rails pickup- no pickguard- strap locks- . I went to the music store and saw it. I traded a 200$ bass for it!!! Nice!!!! The neck needed a little work-- I put spacers (washers) in the truss. Some lame- oh tightened it too tight. As of now all seems to be working fine. It's in reeses pieces right now. I need to clean her up and put back together asap. The reason I was hot to trade was the sound it has with the ASh and Maple. It's an old bass. I'd say somewhere in the 80's

Sounds Absolutely Fubulous, stroker vance! If you've got DiMarzio Split P's (humbuckers with rails) That's a totaly killer p'up. I know I love mine.

The pu's came with the bass. They seem like they are pretty old ---they have orange, green and white wires - the orange throws me off a bit because most Dims I've seen have the red wire-the pu's covers are solid- no holes just flat plastic...... I haven't researched it yet but the sound is the same I'm used to with the Dims. They may not be Dimarzios- they don't have the logo but niether do all the old ones I have from the late 70's and early 80's.The odd thing is that the cap is one of those really small orange ones = 473 or what ever== I call it a "5".
I'm doing the copper shield thing today. :D There is always good excitement when getting a new old bass together .

I can't decide what it is that I want. I need some outlet..cause sitting around is only making me practice my bass 6 and 7 hours a day. If I'm online...I've got my bass in my lap. I need more toys!

Will it be...a Peavey Foundation(that I can rip the frets out of right away), or a Peavey 112 50w combo(to hook preamp to preamp with the "new" Peavey TnT160?

This Fenton guy you guys speak of obviously needs a gig. He doesn't mind...just wants to take a 40 minute ride with his folks to Maryland.

Benny, Benny , Benny! You've just got a bad case of G.A.S. that will only get worse. Go buy something and the symptoms will go away! :D For a day or two.

Fenton always seems to turn up somewhere and most times he'll be onstage.

he still wants to go to Minnesota for a hamburger and to wave at James Coderre, and he's really excited about seeing a moose.
