Hi guys. I'm 16 and I'm a student at the Berklee College of Music at the Bass Department ( Steve Bailey is great btw).
I would die for this bass in lefty version , because it's so cool and looks soo good , and I want a Fender bass , but I ain't got $$ for the AM STANDARD , which is the olny damn option we lefties have...

So do you think it's possible that Fender would craft this thing?

Greetings fellow lefty bassman, and welcome to the Fender forums.

If you can't afford a lefty American Standard Jazz, then there's no way you could afford Fender's Custom Shop to craft you the Jazz Bass you desire.

I would suggest buying a Made In Mexico Fender Jazz Bass and then modifing it to your preferences as time and money permits.

Also being in Boston there should be some good used lefties about for sale. NYC isn't all that far away either. So you're in a very good position to find an excellent left-handed Fender Electric Jazz Bass Guitar.

Here's a link to a review of my 2012 left-handed American Standard Jazz.

I am a lefty also but some stuff I do righty, bass is one of them. I just did a quick scan of eBay and there are a couple lefty MIM Jazz on auction with really low or no bids. May be an opportunity to get a real steal. MIMs are pretty darn good but many choose to upgrade the electronics. As linnin suggests, those upgrades can be done whenever it works for you, but it would be a nice way to start.

There are also some lefty Squire VMs out there. Not my favorite, but not sure what your budget is either. I would take the used MIM first.

Used MIAs can be found in the $700s if you are patient.

Good luck!
