Thanks jazzbassjo. It was just so stupid, like slow motion. I pulled it out again and said, yup, you did that. No pride there but I will get over it. I just wish it had been an edge or a headstock, but no, right on the face.

Your memory is correct. I am in search of a Jaco CS where the side markers are on the frets. I have been told it exists prior to such and such a date, (sorry, on the road without my docs) but I have not found an example, even in pictures, so far. The hunt is part of the enjoyment I get out of it....the sound is the other part.

Wow did not know there was a CS Jaco with side dots on the lines.
Good luck with your search!

Hey Affprod is it possible that Fender stopped putting the side dot markers on the Custom Shop Jaco at the same time they stopped putting side dot markers on the Standard Artist Jaco models,.....I think 2008 was the last year side dot markers were on the frets because shortly after I bought mine in mid 2008 I started to notice that the side dot markers were now positioned in the middle of the fret..

We've all been there....done that. Maybe not exactly the same way but......
I look at it as true, honest road wear. Adds character to the bass. My old '75 p-bass, which I gigged for over 10 years, has so many dinged places in it.....well they're all reminders of good memories now. :)

I agree!!!!
