I've recently noticed that Fender did a limited-edition run of American Design Select guitars and basses. They're essentially American Deluxes with tonewoods and finishes usually found on Fender Selects.

Only 9 examples were made so far.

Just saw this beautiful Amberburst American Deluxe Jazz:

Very nice. 8) It just needs Nylon strings on it.

Is it not a 2013 Select with the active pickups? I guess it isn't. I actually dig the black pickguard on there.

The Select Active uses an unbound 20-fret neck and a 3-ply parchment pickguard. It does sport American Deluxe electronics but lacks off the N3s.

The American Design version is essentially an American Deluxe Jazz Bass loaded with features usually found on the Fender Select series.

I did some searches afterwards and found links calling this bass a Deluxe Protoype. Sweetwater had an old link with one, but the bass had sold. It had the Deluxe pickups and 5 screw back plate.

Hey what's with the devil emotion,....it's hardly intimidating,. it's actually hilarious... Now stop constantly correcting people with regard to gear info, you're just upsetting every one. If you're so insecure that that you need to feel superior by constantly correcting people & one upping them then there's a place called TalkBass that might suit your needs. This place however is a fun social hub for Fender enthusiasts & we like to keep things fun, light & supportive.

My subscription to Talkbass was short.

I left that forum after being labeled as a troll.

I hate trolling, trust me.

WOW!!!!!  well that's not a suprise....
No further comment other than "if it walks like a Duck & squaks like a Duck ...well than ....it's a Duck"
Maybe this is a good time to look at how you communicate with others, :) ......always having to be the superior one with knowledge is not the end all & be all.....
