Quick Question if anyone can help... Just purchased 06 Jazz with S1 switch.
When Switch is out, both volume controls and tone work.
With switch depressed, Only first volume works and tone... Second volume has no affect at all.. If I turn the first volume down all the way and the second one up, there is no volume at all..
So I guess my question really is, With the switch depressed, are both volume knobs supposed to work? Thanks

Steve

Only one of the volume knobs will work when S-1 is in parallel mode, or the original Jazz mode.

When in series mode the two pickups are working exactly like a P-Bass pickup with one in reverse phase! Therefore only one volume works when in Series mode.

It sounds to be working correctly.

Brother Dave! Thanks for the quick response, but it sounds like your stating that only one volume control works in both parrell and series mode...Unless im reading your post wrong....

I also have a 2006, when the switch is depressed the two pickups effectively become one, so only one volume control works.
I bought mine because I liked the idea of the S1 , in practice I find the sound a bit "unfocussed" I found that I preferred the more distinct sound of the original jazz bass set up.

Sorry, misspoke. When in normal mode it works like a regular Jazz. When in reverse phase mode it works like a P-Bass with one volume and one tone control. The other volume control does nothing.

So in normal mode it works VOL/VOL/TONE. But in reverse phase mode it works VOL/TONE.
