Hello all! (First post)

I have recently ordered this bass

http://www.richtonemusic.co.uk/products ... tAodBX0APg

I love that Trans red :)

...I am a little concerned though about what i've been reading on the interweb in regards to the Buzzzing hummm a lot of people seem to be getting from these Basses.

I'm wondering if this was an issue with earlier Models (question mark)
...or am i at risk of receiving a noisy, buzzy instrument with no shielding , still in 2013 (question mark)

To make me feel better, if you own a 2010 American Deluxe jazz bass with not too much hum or buzzing ,then please let me know lol

(my "question mark" key sadly drowned in Coffee)

Thanks for any replies..

Hi MadHaze, Welcome to the Fender Forum, I have a 2011 American Deluxe Jazz 5 string (natural Finish) .....Great Bass!! :) I had minor buzzing when I first got my 2011 Am DLX
back in May 2011, ......in my case I upgraded to a better cable & the issue was solved .....others weren't so Lucky, .......there were a batch of N3 pickups that Fender did a recall on back in mid 2011, I believe the issue has since been resolved, just remember that your instrument is under warranty & if you have any issues bring it back to the store where you purchased it & get the issue resolved,...........for the most part my bass is quiet but there is a faint bit of buzz in active mode & at higher volumes which is to be expected (nothing unmanageable though). they'll never be 100% quit In my opinion, & please take in to account the wiring in older buildings & some bars & clubs could cause buzz issues.
I live in a 100 yr old house & if someone on my block is using an electric lawn mower or hedge trimmer my amp will pick it up & buzz a bit.

Hi James, thanks for your reply.

I don't mind a little bit of hum and buzz ,as long as it never gets in the way of a live performance. I won't be doing any recording or anything like that.

I have my fingers crossed that I get a good one. I've been waiting a couple of weeks for it now... it says on the site I ordered it from they're expecting some in tomorrow (13th may)So I might have it very soon :D

I'll report back in here and post some pics when she arrives :D

Can't wait!!!

I wouldn't worry about it until you have it in hand and can evaluate it.

I phoned the shop today, they said I have to wait another month before fender send more stock to their European base in Holland (I think they said Holland) any how ... i'll be waiting a long time before i can evaluate anything , i'm in UK .
I'm sure it will be worth the wait...
I have lots of gigs coming up this year and really look forward to using the Fender.
Learning a new set of Disco for the Summer ....:D
