I played a gig recently, and from the pictures it appears my Select looks a bit on the orange side. That's not a bad thing as I like the sienna burst finish, but I wonder if my tort pg is a contributing factor. I may add a white pearl or the original parchment pg.

Looking at the skin tones I'd say coloured lights are your primary root cause.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You've posted pics of this before and I think it is drop dead gorgeous. I think the lighting is a good answer. Based on the early pics I wouldn't change a thing. Even the "orange" photo looks hot.

Agree with Affprod. It looks great and stage lighting does weird things to colors. I wouldn't worry about it and I wouldn't change the guard to a light color for sure as lighter colors are more reactive to lighting changes.

It's gotta be the stage lights but that being said,....... I find that my Amber burst Select Jazz bass is kinda on the Orange side. (& that's without stage lights)

It certainly wasn't a complaint...as a long time Mets and Orioles fan, orange has always been one of my favorite colors. But what I didn't do a good job of articulating is that the flamed top was washed out....definitely due to the lighting. It's a joy to play...and it sits well in the mix. I searched some other pics (of Sienna/amber instruments)and it also looks good with parchment/white, and have noticed that parchment/white or tort is definitely the way to go with this particular color shade/palette.

It's combination of the lighting, and the wood grain of the body.
