I just added a new 2008 Jazz Bass to the arsenal. This is the
best yet!!! I would advise you to go out and try one of these beast
immediately. Kudos to Fender. Best out of the box with no alterations.
It almost felt like it came from the Custom Shop. You have given this
new dog old tricks along with the new. Thank you Fender. :D

It's in the groove.

They are definitely really cool. Very light and versatile. I disagree with the perfect out of the box comment, I put in EMGs the day I got it, but i prefer active to passive. If you haven't played on of these, go out and try it out!

All right!!
How long did it take for it to reach you. I have a New American Standard 5 string that's still not arrived after about 2 months wait time. Highend basses custom built take 6 to 12 months I know. Done that, been there several times.
Patience may be a virtue but it can be humanly painful at times. Peace. :)

The 4 string versions of the new P and J basses have been in my local GC for at least two months, but no 5 strings have showed up yet.

Yeah i would have to agree also these new fender american stadard are a huge upgrade from just last years models. They sound amazing both of them and the guitars too. The jazz body in my opinion was a little too far the ay that they extended the body a little bit makes it look just a little odd, but i would still buy the bass no matter what i think of the body.

I bought one myself last month. I absolutely love it. I have a 1978 PBass too. Its SOOOOOOOOO heavy. I am a "lady" and I've played that PBass for over 20 years. The Jazz bass is a welcomed change.

PS Mine is fretless too!! LOVE IT LOVE IT!

You can see mine in a post further on down the line! I think its called My New Jazz Bass...or something like that!

Nice I don't like fretless that much. i cant play fenders jazz frettless. I think that its to glossy (the fretbord) so my figers get stuck on it i like frettleses but not fenders i love warwicks fretless but I stick with the fretted.

Hello,
I received the New American Standard 5 string Jazz Bass friday 06/06/2008.
For me my new bass is just right - out of the box and case, a 1/2 turn down on the saddles, tune to pitch factory 8250 strings and played at outside gig.
Played through the Fender Pro 800 w/2 15" and 8 10" cabs and it was just right. Pics ASAP - Thanks, Fender
