The American Deluxe Jazz Bass came either with a select alder or premium ash body.

The ash-bodied models are more expensive than the alder ones because of the special wood requirements.

thank you for your answer.
so you can choose the wood ash or alder, no matter what is the model ?
but if i want to buy online like on Thomann for exemple, it's not possible i guess?

The American Deluxe Ash J-Bass is available in Natural only. The other four remaining colours (Wine Transparent, Black, 3-Colour Sunburst, Olympic White) are offered on the alder-bodied models.

Prior to 2010 Fender offered their American Deluxe Ash J-Basses in Butterscotch Blonde, Tobacco Sunburst and Aged Cherry Burst. The pre-2010 Deluxes were full active dinky beasts with 22 frets, Samarium Cobalt pickups and abalone fretboard dots.

Thomann lists the four-string American Deluxe Jazz Bass for 1799 €. The five-string version costs 1833 €.
