Hello all-- I was checking out a used 2009 American Jazz Bass (not sure of exactly which model, but it has made in USA decal and Corona neckplate) (that I'm hoping to buy ASAP) and was curious at the color of it. It was a nice teal/medium blue metallic with a white pickguard and a maple neck/fingerboard. Does anyone know this color or have a color chart from the 2009 line? Thank you in advance.

No. Not charcoal. Definitely blue. Like a Lake Placid Blue, but more "blue" richer color. Might be a custom color. Whoever owned this bass prior babied it. There's not a mark on it.

Fender's color chart for 2009 listed Olympic White, Blizzard Pearl, Charcoal Frost, Candy Cola, Black and 3-Colour Sunburst as the available finishes for the American Standard basses.

A couple of pics might help a lot.

I think I might just be an idiot. After research I'm thinking it's just Lake Placid Blue. It just seemed richer and fuller color than a friend of mine's LPB Squier Classic vibe P-bass '51 style. Thanks everyone.

Lake Placid Blue is a colour option for the MIM Standards since 2009.

No. It was definitely Made in The USA (or at least it is being purported as one) it has a made in the USA logo under the Fender logo on the front of the headstock. It has a SN# NZ9xxxxx (I think ) on the rear of the headstock. The lighter tuners. A one piece maple neck, string through the back, etc. The bridge seemed to be that smoky color like on an Aerodyne instead or the really bright chrome. At this point I'm just trying to make sure that it's actually a USA bass for the money that I will have to pay for it. On that note... is $800-$900 reasonable for a 3 year old USA Jazz Bass? It seems to me to be at the upper register of what you should pay for one, but this guy may not bee to flexible and I really like this bass. Not sure yet if it has the OHSC.

That is a legit USA 2009 serial. If the bass is legitimate one of two things could be possible. 1. Refinish. 2. There was a SPECIAL RUN of LPB ones made up for some dealership somewhere.
